Friends of the Golf Course

Friends of the Golf Course, Fund for Excellence
Your support as a Friend of the Golf Course is needed to fund those improvements not included in our annual operating budget. Projects currently under consideration at this time include a restroom between the tees of holes 3 and 15, covered tees at the driving range, permanent scoreboard, tournament software and a rain shelter.

Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents.   Contributions to the University of Maryland are tax deductible as allowed by law.   Please see your tax advisor for details.

Friends Mission Statement
The Friends of the University of Maryland Golf Course will advocate and support continuing enhancements and upgrades to the course to assure its legacy as a premier golfing experience.

How You Can Help
There are a number of ways that you can get involved with the Golf Course Fund for Excellence. You may become a Friend of the Golf Course by donating $1,000 or more annually. This charitable contribution is unequivocally stating that you want your golf course’s legacy as a premier recreation and meeting facility to continue. Naming opportunities are also available. Please see the Naming Opportunities page for information.

Special benefits as our Friend include: a commemorative golf course gift; pre-event notices and invitations, membership in the University of Maryland's Philanthropy Society, donor recognition in various publications, a special parking permit for designated Friends of the Golf Course spaces, and an invitation to the Annual Friends of the Golf Course Invitational.

Consider our Friend for Life designation if you would like to make a significant and immediate impact on the University Golf Course.

It is because of the Friends that we have all these things we need to make UMD golf course a better place for our members and guests.
